Vacation.

Vacation is…

Flying on a plane.

image

Then soaking in some sunshine at a beautiful hotel…

image

…enjoying fantastic food and drinks…

image

…then putting on your floaties and enjoying the pool…

image

…and playing in the sand at the beach at the pool…

image

…and basically blowing off steam while looking fabulous.

Vacation is the best thing ever.

Ye Olde Mystic.

After living the island life in the Far East, we moved a little less east and stayed with Grammie and Grandpa in a town called Mystic.

There was a pool.

image

Mom made me wear these things called floaties. I pretended to hate them.

image

But those things called floaties let me swim by myself. Don’t tell mom I kind of love my floaties.

There was a beach.

Grammie gave me this red shovel and bucket.

And there was a fantastic sunset.

I loved spending time with Grammie and Grandpa in the lovely town of Mystic.

A little (more) island adventure.

I visited the little island of Nantucket when I was just a baby, and I promised Aunt and Uncle KandK that I would be back, whether they liked it or not! So, during our travels in the Far East, we hopped on a ferry and zipped over the ocean and joined all of dad’s family at KandK’s little island home. It was a wonderful four days of little island life.

KandK have a beautiful home with a big yard and big flowers.

The whole family gathered together, and ate clams cooked many different ways.

I ate clams fried and on the half shell.

The whole Anderson clan.

The whole good looking clan.

We visited multiple beaches, saw lots of boats, shells, seaweed, and even a lighthouse.

The water was very cold at some of the beaches.

There were boats of all sizes, including large yachts.

There was even a light house, which was rather small for my taste.

The sunset on the beach the last night was certainly the most special part of the trip.

Then it was time to hop back on the high speed ferry, feel the wind in our hair, and head back to America.

Thanks for a wonderful visit to your little island, KandK! Don’t worry, I will invite myself back again sooner rather than later!!!

The Beach.

The highlight of the last weekend was visiting Corpus Christi. The beach was spectacular, and I loved the sand, the waves and, of course, Whataburger.

image

We left at the crack of dawn since the drive was long.

image

We stopped for lunch at Whataburger.

image

I thought the water was cold at first.

image

Mom was obsessed with my tiny footprints in the sand.

image

I loved the feel of the sand. Mom was afraid I would try to eat it, but she shouldn't have worried.

image

I had so much fun with mom in the sun sand and waves.

image

I found the whole experience exhuasting, but I would go back in a heartbeat. What do you say, mom?

Weekend Getaway.

This past weekend I went with mom down to Auntie Gwennie’s. It was an adventure.

image

Three ladies, two generations.

We enjoyed the sunshine on her back porch.

image

Mom goes giddy over this romper and sun hat.

We dipped our toes in the local river that is always a balmy 72 degrees.

image

72 degrees is not THAT warm.

We took in the sights of Austin, including the unintentional tourist traps.

image

Rather great graffiti. Notice our matching cowboy boots?

My favorite part was, of course, the beach.

image

Beach romper, umbrella and the distant waves. Can it get much better??

Thanks Auntie Gwennie for a wonderful weekend!!!

A little island adventure.

I visited an island this past week. A very unique island named Nantucket.

image

My Aunt and Uncle KandK live there, and I got to meet them for the first time.

image

Aunt and Uncle KandK!!!

I think they are a lot of fun, especially since you have to take a boat to get to their house.

image

On the ferry to Nantucket.

The blue ocean and blue sky were my favorite parts. Uncle K said that Portugal was out there in the water, but I couldn’t really see that far.

image

Perhaps I will come again when I don’t have to wear my winter hat. Yes, KandK, I just invited myself back. I won’t take up too much room.

(For clarification, I know I refer to many Aunts and Uncles, but KandK are actually related to me for real.)
