Thankful.

Today was my first Thanksgiving! Last year mom was so bummed I didn’t arrive by Thanksgiving… (but I did come on Black Friday, which mom joked is dad’s favorite holiday.)

From what I can tell, Thanksgiving starts with snuggling with dad and enjoying that he is home from work.

Then, later, snacks are set out while there is a lot of cooking going on in the kitchen.

image

Then the food is served in heaping piles on your plate.

image

Then after stuffing yourself with cucumber salad you lounge around the table…..

image

….. and then watch football with grandma and grampy.

image

Mom and dad said that all these things are nice, but the point of the day is to remember how much we have to be thankful for…. so I am thankful for momanddad, Twizzle, Cheerios, all my grandparents, and rubber duckies.

Grammie.

Grammie came to visit for my birthday. She helped with my party and played with me….. and took me shopping for clothes. Just like dad does. I can tell she is related to him.

Me and Grammie shopping. We were rather sucessful, weren't we Grammie?

Thanks for such a fun visit Grammie!

Grammie and my Great Aunt Sis were such a wonderful part of my birthday weekend.

Celebrate.

Saturday was a very fun day. I am still recovering from all the duckies, festivities, and visitors. Turning one must be a very big deal.

First, the house got decorated.

Then cupcakes were baked.

Then I got my party dress on.

image

Then I got to eat my ducky cake. (Good job, grandma!)

It was a very special party. Happy birthday to me!

12 Months Old.

I turned twelve months old on Saturday. At least, that is the number on the sticker that I wore for my final monthly picture.

12 month

Mom and Dad said that now I am called a one-year-old. Mom also said it was good there were only twelve months in a year, because she could not imagine making me sit still for any more of those pictures.

It is fun to look back on all the months that have made up my first year:

Windows.

Grandma likes clean windows. So, don’t put your sticky baby hands on the window. And especially don’t put your sticky baby hands on the window while she is cleaning it.

image

image

She WILL make you clean them.

image

I promise I won’t do it again, Grandma.

At least not while you are watching. Or have a squeegee and sponge in your hands.

Eight snaggly teeth.

Mom thought I was getting another tooth.

image

I was drooling and chewing and not sleeping.
Then it got worse.

image

Turns out I got four teeth all at once.

image

The ones on the bottom surprised mom.

image

But now that’s behind me, and my eight snaggly teeth and I can get back to happy times with ducky. Oh and mom. And dad. And Twizzle.. and..

The ‘Lou.

Mom, Grandma and I went to St. Louis this weekend. Mom had some oboe thing, but we made it into a big adventure.
It was a very fun weekend, to which this photo diary will attest:

We flew on a plane to get there.

image

I made sure mom knew about water landings before take off.

After church we visited a big sculpture park.

image

This is made out of old oil barrels. Nice photo bomb, grandma.

image

This is a big deck of grating. It isnt a good place to drop your cookie, I learned.

image

This is a wall of giant metal buoys from the ocean.

After mom’s oboe thing downtown we visited The Arch.

image

image

It is too big to fit in one picture.

Then we went to the zoo.

image

There are elephants at the zoo. I love the zoo.

image

Mom said this is the only ape she has ever seen not do something innapropriate.

The morning before we left, we visited the art museum. (It was full of big echo chambers, which are perfect for shrieking in. You should try it sometime, but not when mom is around, because she gets annoyed.)

image

This is a modern piece of art, just like me.

Also, we visited the sight of the 1904 world’s fair.

image

This was mom's favorite site.

Then I got in my pajamas and we flew home.

image

I got my own seat.

Thank you cousin Sharon for hosting us on our big adventure!

Grandma and cousin Sharon. Both very nice ladies.
