Happy Easter Sunday!
I hope you got to wear a very sparkly dress, get an Easter basket, sit through adult church, soak up some sunshine, and celebrate Jesus being alive.
Last week was Palm Sunday. I got to walk through adult church waving a palm branch.
It was kind of confusing and crowded. So after church I had my own processional.
I think both processionals were good representations of that original processional. I even added shouts of hosanna to my second personal one, just like they shouted all those years ago when Jesus rode a donkey in to Jeruselam.
I asked mom for a donkey instead of the stroller, but she said to just be satisfied with my palm branch.
Hosanna.
Today in church everyone had these green plants, called palm branches.
Mom told me that today is Palm Sunday, and we remember when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. People were happy to see him, and they laid their coats on the road and waved palm branches in the air. They shouted “Hosanna! Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!”
It is the beginning of Holy Week, and from what I hear, something really sad happens on Friday, but it is good, and then we celebrate on Easter.
But for now, I am just going to enjoy this Palm Branch. Happy Palm Sunday!
Yesterday I got to wear my fancy red holiday dress! After taking our first family holiday card picture, I joined mom and dad as they lit the advent candles at church, then I listened to mom play her final holiday concert, followed by some brief holiday shopping. It was my first time for all of these activities!
I went to church this morning! I enjoy being fawned over by all the loving people in our caring church. Although some people might think church is a great place to catch a nap, I prefer to stay oddly alert and awake through the whole service. I apparently enjoy a good sermon and a jolly round of Christmas carols.
