Vacation.

Vacation is…

Flying on a plane.

image

Then soaking in some sunshine at a beautiful hotel…

image

…enjoying fantastic food and drinks…

image

…then putting on your floaties and enjoying the pool…

image

…and playing in the sand at the beach at the pool…

image

…and basically blowing off steam while looking fabulous.

Vacation is the best thing ever.

Ye Olde Mystic.

After living the island life in the Far East, we moved a little less east and stayed with Grammie and Grandpa in a town called Mystic.

There was a pool.

image

Mom made me wear these things called floaties. I pretended to hate them.

image

But those things called floaties let me swim by myself. Don’t tell mom I kind of love my floaties.

There was a beach.

image

Grammie gave me this red shovel and bucket.

And there was a fantastic sunset.

Dad and the Mystic sunset.

I loved spending time with Grammie and Grandpa in the lovely town of Mystic.

Mountain Lake

Mountain Lakes are not only cold, pristine and beautiful, they are also wonderful places to bond with your family.

All that snow melts off the mountains into the lake. That is why it is so cold. And so very cool.

You can swim in the lake with your dog.

It is not fair. He has a fur bathing suit on.

You can climb on a rock with your dad.

He rescued me onto his rock island.

Or you can pose on a bridge with your mom.

Warm snuggles after a cold swim.

Mountain Lakes are a great weekend excursion. Get thyself to one pronto.

The Giant Blue Bathtub.

Mom and Aunt E took me and my blue duckie to something called the pool. It was like a giant bathtub but it was blue and there were lots of kids. Oh, and the water was cold.

image

I am glad blue duckie came with me.

image

I used a splash signal for when blue duckie strayed.

image

I found keeping track of duckie to be a serious matter.

image

Duckie found a safe perch, out of the cold blue water.

image

I like blue duckie and Aunt E. Not sure about the pool.

Mom and Aunt E seemed to enjoy it a lot. I am still undecided as to whether or not the pool is fun.

Did I mention that the water was cold?

Weekend Getaway.

This past weekend I went with mom down to Auntie Gwennie’s. It was an adventure.

image

Three ladies, two generations.

We enjoyed the sunshine on her back porch.

image

Mom goes giddy over this romper and sun hat.

We dipped our toes in the local river that is always a balmy 72 degrees.

image

72 degrees is not THAT warm.

We took in the sights of Austin, including the unintentional tourist traps.

image

Rather great graffiti. Notice our matching cowboy boots?

My favorite part was, of course, the beach.

image

Beach romper, umbrella and the distant waves. Can it get much better??

Thanks Auntie Gwennie for a wonderful weekend!!!
