When I dream, I dream big. This afternoon, I was dreaming that I was a French military leader taking over Europe.
In other news, I found my first Christmas utterly exhuasting, so I politely slept most of the day today. I hope mom didn’t mind having to find something else with which to entertain herself.
I just have to say that IKEA really is pretty great. Go for the cheap breakfast, stay for the baby Poang.
Four weeks ago was Black Friday. At 5 am, while many of you were heading to the mall for a bargain, my mom and dad were headed to the hospital for a baby. I think I am the greatest Black Friday Deal one could possibly imagine! Here is a brief photo journey through my grand entrance.

Abby is a puppy who recently joined Aunt E and Uncle M’s little family. I fear she is my closest rival for cuteness. They did a little swap to see if it could be determined who wins the cute award. It might be a tie. In case you can’t tell, I am on the right.

Yesterday I took a trip down to Children’s Hospital to get my little heart murmur checked out. I got an ultrasound of my heart, and an echocardiogram. Nothing to worry about here! I have a benign heart murmur, as many infants do. About fifty percent of all children get diagnosed with one at some point. So, I will probably grow out of it, and leave the murmuring for poets and crowds.
Children’s Hospital is an incredible and overwhelming place. Mom said we should remember how blessed we are, and say little prayers for all the other children there who don’t feel very good.
We topped off the day with a lunch at one of mom and dad’s favorite places… IKEA! I didn’t see much more than the back of my eyelids while we were there, but I hear they got a steal of a deal in the “as is” department.

What is a baby blog without a “nursery reveal” post? My mom and dad had a great time planning this room for me. Everything is either from IKEA or homemade. There are elephants everywhere, including the decals on the purple walls, the wooden elephants on the mobile, the cloth elephants on the pillow cases, and the giant stuffed IKEA elephant on the floor.
Considering all the time we have spent in this room over the last three weeks, it has turned out to be a very charming and comforting space!
I went to church this morning! I enjoy being fawned over by all the loving people in our caring church. Although some people might think church is a great place to catch a nap, I prefer to stay oddly alert and awake through the whole service. I apparently enjoy a good sermon and a jolly round of Christmas carols.
