Holiday shopping.

Apparently people do a lot of shopping to celebrate Jesus’  birthday. Allow me to give you some shopping pointers for this holiday season.

First you have to be willing to scour the clearance racks.

Then you have to figure out if the price is a good deal.

image

And then you have to be willing to come back another day, one where you might actually walk out the door with an unbeatable bargain in hand.

Dad and Grammie you have taught me well.

Thankful.

Today was my first Thanksgiving! Last year mom was so bummed I didn’t arrive by Thanksgiving… (but I did come on Black Friday, which mom joked is dad’s favorite holiday.)

From what I can tell, Thanksgiving starts with snuggling with dad and enjoying that he is home from work.

Then, later, snacks are set out while there is a lot of cooking going on in the kitchen.

image

Then the food is served in heaping piles on your plate.

image

Then after stuffing yourself with cucumber salad you lounge around the table…..

image

….. and then watch football with grandma and grampy.

Mom and dad said that all these things are nice, but the point of the day is to remember how much we have to be thankful for…. so I am thankful for momanddad, Twizzle, Cheerios, all my grandparents, and rubber duckies.

The Fourth.

Lucky for me this adorable romper fits the patriotic color scheme.

On the Fourth of July we all got dressed in red white and blue and ate hot dogs. I had to go to bed before the fireworks show, but mom said they would be too loud and scary for me anyways.

Mom and Dad said we dressed in the colors of the American Flag because the Fourth is the day we remember that once a group of very brave people declared their independence from a king and decided that liberty and freedom from oppresive government were things worthy of a fight.

So, happy Independence Day!

Father’s Day.

Today was my first Father’s Day. Well, I guess it was dad’s first Father’s Day, too.

We went to Vail and drooled over skis,

I have no clue how to use these things. Mom says you need that white snow stuff first.

and ate at a Little Diner, (which is both the name and the description),

The Little Blogger made an appearance at the Little Diner. So fitting.

and then we hiked on something called a mesa. It was like a big flat table top.

Riding on dad's shoulders. Classic.

Happy First Father’s Day, dad! It was a good day, wasn’t it?

Mother’s Day.

Today was a holiday known as Mother’s day. From what I can tell it involves dad taking me out first thing to get flowers and scones and lattees for mom.

image

I picked out those flowers. They looked tasty.

It also involves dad rolling out grass in the garden and mom taking pictures.

image

Twizzle had to be bribed to sit calmly next to me.

I don’t know if this is how all mom and dads celebrate mother’s day, but it was a nice day.

I love the new lawn dad planted today.

Happy Mother’s Day, mom. Aren’t you glad I made you a mother?

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! He is Risen!

Airplane at the airport. So cliche.

Today I took a plane home after a week long trip full of meeting family, seeing new places, attending a wedding and spending Easter morning at mom and dad’s old church. I had so much fun, and traveling does not phase me one bit.

Don’t you worry, the Little Blogger has all sorts of fresh material with which to regail her international slew of fans. Stay tuned.

But for now, I will go to sleep in my own bed tonight knowing the end of that story that started on Palm Sunday. It did get sad in the middle, but then it turned out very happily this morning. The tomb was empty!

Hosanna!

Waving my palm branch!

Today in church everyone had these green plants, called palm branches.

Mom told me that today is Palm Sunday, and we remember when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. People were happy to see him, and they laid their coats on the road and waved palm branches in the air. They shouted “Hosanna! Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!”

It is the beginning of Holy Week, and from what I hear, something really sad happens on Friday, but it is good, and then we celebrate on Easter.

But for now, I am just going to enjoy this Palm Branch. Happy Palm Sunday!
