Walk on.

Dad walking me and Twizzle in the backyard.

I am sure all my fans would like to know that I recently perfected the art of walking. One day I was standing in mom and dad’s room drinking a bottle and I noticed an unprotected iPhone on the nightstand. In a moment of sheer desperation of wanting the phone and having my hands occupied by the bottle, my feet willed me across the floor taking little steps. Mom thought it was a moment for the history books but dad remarked that he thought I had already taken my first steps earlier.

No matter how the story of my first steps actually goes, the fact remains that I now walk as my primary mode of transportation, Don’t worry, mom, I’ll still let you carry all my stuff.

Celebrate.

Saturday was a very fun day. I am still recovering from all the duckies, festivities, and visitors. Turning one must be a very big deal.

First, the house got decorated.

Then cupcakes were baked.

Then I got my party dress on.

Then I got to eat my ducky cake. (Good job, grandma!)

It was a very special party. Happy birthday to me!

12 Months Old.

I turned twelve months old on Saturday. At least, that is the number on the sticker that I wore for my final monthly picture.

12 month

Mom and Dad said that now I am called a one-year-old. Mom also said it was good there were only twelve months in a year, because she could not imagine making me sit still for any more of those pictures.

It is fun to look back on all the months that have made up my first year:

1 month

2 month

3 month

Eleven Months Old.

I am officially eleven months old. I have five snaggly teeth, I can stand on my own, I can do three words of baby sign, I love rubber duckies and my favorite song is Rowan Rowan Row your boat.

I demand a giant duckie party next time I have to sit on this chair with a sticker and a smile, okay mom and dad?

My own two feet.

I recently discovered a new trick.

image

Ta da.

Standing without holding on to anything.

image

Ta da.

My favorite part of this trick is how mom shouts “ta da” every time I do it… then she scrambles for her camera and I sit down before she can get a good photo.

Ten Months.

Ten months old today!

I am kind of unable to sit still for these monthly pictures anymore, but mom insists that I do. She pulls out all the tricks, offers me illicit items, makes funny noises and even tries to hold me down. Can you believe she thinks she can get away with taking two more of these photos? Good luck next month, mom.

Two More.

I got two more teeth.

image

Nope. Not gonna let you see them.

It wasn’t easy. I have been working on the top four all week, and it has made me rather cranky. And, even though two came in, I am still waiting for the other two in the middle to show up. I hope it happens soon.

In other news, it has finally stopped raining.

That is news worthy of a four tooth grin.

No longer the two tooth wonder.

Equal time.

Nine months old.

This morning during my obligatory photo shoot mom informed me that I have now been out as long as I was in. I didn’t know what she was talking about, and sitting still with a sticker on my onesie is just too much to ask of a mobile nine month old, so…

image

Sorry, what did you say? Sit still? Um, nah.

image

That was the end of my nine month photo session.

Good luck next month, mom.

Achieving great heights.

I learned today that anything worth having is worth overcoming great obstacles to get.

There is a little swimming pool that the cats drink out of at the top of a few stairs outside the kitchen. I wanted to swim, too, so I climbed up to do so, much to mom’s pleasure and horror.

I don’t know if it was a punishment or not, but mom then made me climb the huge set of stairs while she pointed her iPhone at me.
