Experiencing summer for the third time makes me basically an expert on this fine season,
Summer is sunshine on your face.
Summer is a full backyard.
Summer is cherry shaved ice.
Summer is mud puddles after the rain.
Summer is wildflowers.
Summer is drinking juice pool side.
But mostly summer is playing so hard you can’t even finish your steamer on the way home,
I love summer.
The days are getting shorter, the air is getting colder and it is almost time to get out my boots. I’m not sure I’m thrilled that summer is almost over.
But then again, there is always pumpkin bread to assuage my sadness. That is one good thing about fall.
So, goodbye summer, hello pumpkin deliciousness!!!
Since this is my second summer, I am becoming quite an expert on how to enjoy this season. If you want to know how you too can make the most of your summer days, allow me to give you some suggestions.
Install a pool in your backyard.
Install a slide for that pool.
Plant some flowers. Then don’t touch them because it will make your mom mad.
Decorate the flagstone walk with chalk. But don’t eat the chalk because it doesn’t taste good.
Run through a fountain on your local walking mall.
Have a picnic dinner in the park.
And always take a moment to enjoy the summer sunset.
Now get out there and enjoy your summer. I’m certainly enjoying my second one so far!
There are many different playgrounds.
Some have tractors.
Some have spaceships and rockets.
Some even have dinosaurs.
Sometimes there are lookout windows.
But the best part of all playgrounds is the swing. I love the swing.
Push me again, mom.
Mom got me a new toy for our yard!
It is the world’s trickiest blue staircase. I think it will take me all summer to figure out how to climb it.
But thanks, mom! I love it!
I wish it was summer. Then I could play ball in the grass.
And swim outside.
And go camping.
And go hiking.
And listen to live music while having a picnic in the park.
So I will sip my tea and dream of summer….
But until then…. how about one more ride on my sled, please?
Summer is quick stops at the park to swing.
Summer is standing in the backyard on your new motorcycle, well motorREcycle.
It is good to be a baby. Sorry if you started school today with all the big kids and this post of sheer summer frovility made you sad.
Summer is sitting on a bench in the park and eating a cluster of grapes.
And I do mean cluster.
I have no idea why mom went through all that trouble to cut up some grapes into little pieces. That’s for babies.
Mom and Aunt E took me and my blue duckie to something called the pool. It was like a giant bathtub but it was blue and there were lots of kids. Oh, and the water was cold.
I am glad blue duckie came with me.
I used a splash signal for when blue duckie strayed.
I found keeping track of duckie to be a serious matter.
Duckie found a safe perch, out of the cold blue water.
I like blue duckie and Aunt E. Not sure about the pool.
Mom and Aunt E seemed to enjoy it a lot. I am still undecided as to whether or not the pool is fun.
Did I mention that the water was cold?
